In junior high school Dr. Sessions knew he wanted to be to be a doctor and never considered any other career. According to Dr. Sessions, "Medicine has been so rewarding despite the hard work."
Both Dr. Sessions and his wife Flo grew up in Springhill and enjoy going to LSU ballgames and the beach with their family in the summer. They have 8 grandkids and 1 great granddaughter.

Dr. Sessions graduated high school from Springhill High School in Springhill, Louisiana. He graduated with a B.S. from Louisiana State University in 1967. In 1971, he graduated with an M.D. from Louisiana State University School of Medicine. Dr. Sessions completed his Internship and Residency at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. During his Residency, he was made Chief Resident. He is certified with the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Surgeons, and the Southern Medical Society. Dr. Sessions returned to his hometown, accepting a position as General Surgeon at Springhill Medical Center and bringing with him a broad spectrum of surgical based knowledge. Dr. Sessions has worked at Springhill Medical Center for 50 years. He is currently Chief of Staff, Director of the Rural Health Clinic and Chief of Surgery, specializing in Endoscopy including cancer screenings and skin surgery.
