Please call your provider's office and they will assess whether or not your appointment can be handled via telemedicine. The process is easy, you can use your smartphone (iPhone/Android) or computer (as long it has a camera). Your provider's office will walk you through the process.

If you are experiencing difficulty gaining access to telehealth, please call the doctor's office directly. Our friendly staff will gladly walk you through the process.

What is Telemedicine? 

Telemedicine is the practice of providing clinical care to patients at a distance using telecommunications technology. It is the method of treating patients using the internet, telephone. This can take the form of real-time video visits to remotely monitor patient’s vital signs.

What is the difference between Telemedicine and Telehealth ? 

Telemedicine and telehealth are used as synonyms and are interchangeable. Both refer to using remote healthcare technology to deliver clinical services.

Does a patient have to meet with a provider in-person before a visit can be conducted via video ? 

No, this service is available for both new and existing patients.  Please call the clinic for more information.

Is the telemedicine technology difficult to use? 

It depends on the specific application. In general, the telemedicine software is designed to be easy as any other familiar modern applications.

Will insurance pay for video visits? 

In many cases, yes. Many insurers voluntarily pay for telemedicine visits.

Does Medicare and Medicaid pay for telemedicine visits?

MEDICARE: Due to the current situation, Medicare will cover a telemedicine visit.

MEDICAID: Due to the current situation, Medicaid will cover a telemedicine visit.

Is Telemedicine private and secure? 

Yes, but only when it is conducted using the encrypted platform that was designed for the purpose of telemedicine. Consumer apps like Facetime and Skype are not secure enough for video visits.

How do I schedule an appointment for a Telehealth visit? 

Simply contact the clinic to schedule your telehealth appointment. The clinic will secure an appointment and email the instructions to you.

Do I need an email address?  

Yes, you must have an email address in order to receive instructions about the telehealth visit.

What type of video camera device do I need?  

The following devices are acceptable: any smart phone with a camera, any tablet with a camera, and any computer with a camera device.

Will my data plan be used when connected to a Telemedicine?  

If you are not connected to WI-FI, data usage may apply.
