Foundation donates $9,000 to purchase i-Stat machine

announced Springhill Medical Center Foundations purchase and donation of a
$9,000 i-STAT hand-held analyzer to help improve patient outcomes by providing
lab-quality test results within minutes. Designed to expedite patient diagnosis
and treatment, i-STAT analyzer performs a comprehensive panel of critical tests
at the patient’s bedside using two or three drops of blood. SpringhillMedicalCenter is using this Point
of Care testing (POCT) device in all patient care areas including, ICU and ER
where treatment decisions rely on fast test results.

allows community members and friends to support SpringhillMedicalCenter throughout the year
just by making their online purchases through
the shoppingmall.
Springhill Medical Center Foundation, in conjunction with the Association for
Healthcare Philanthropy, Fundlink, LLC, and more than 1,300 major retailers,
have created a special Web site where supporters enter before visiting the
online stores of retailers such as Target®,
Macy’s®, Best Buy®,
Dell®, Staples®
and Expedia®. These merchants
then donate a portion of each sale in the form of a royalty to Springhill
Medical Center Foundation automatically.
